Sierra Vista I
Sierra Vista I is a mixed income affordable multifamily housing community consisting of 115 apartments with one, two, three, and four bedrooms including a manager’s apartment. The redevelopment of Sierra Vista Phase I is nearing completion. The Housing Authority expects the first tenants to occupy units in 2019.
Sierra Vista II
We’ve broken ground! The second phase of redevelopment of Sierra Vista Homes is underway. This phase entails the demolition of 57 public housing units to be replaced with 100 energy efficient apartments. This affordable community will offer one, two, three and four bedroom apartments with an expected completion date in 2020.
The Housing Authority received funding from San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services to renovate the Authority’s former administrative buildings located at 448 S. Center Street and 421 S. El Dorado Street in Stockton. The project will be an adaptive reuse project converting the commercial buildings into studio apartments and one resident manager apartment. The Property will also include a space for program related activities. The Housing Authority will provide Project Based Voucher assistance. Construction has already started on this Project.
The 2019 San Joaquin Continuum of Care (CoC) has identified 130 homeless Veterans in San Joaquin County. The Housing Authority will be seeking $4 million in state Veterans Housing and Homeless Prevention (VHHP) Act funds, and $15.2 million in low-income housing tax credits to construct 49 units for homeless veterans in French Camp. CA. In partnership with the County of San Joaquin, Victory Gardens will be built on available county land across from the existing Veterans Clinic. The Housing Authority will provide Project-Based Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) rental assistance to homeless veterans so deserving of permanent supportive housing.
